Is VibeKit free to start?
Yes. The free tier includes 10 AI sessions per month, 2 hosted apps, and 1 linked remote agent. No credit card required to sign up. Bring your own Anthropic or OpenAI key (BYOK) and you can run thousands of sessions without VibeKit ever charging you for AI usage.
What does BYOK mean and how does it work?
BYOK stands for Bring Your Own Key. You connect your Anthropic or OpenAI API key in your profile, and AI usage bills directly to that account at the provider's standard rates. VibeKit adds zero markup on BYOK usage, your subscription only covers the platform (hosting, persistent agents, infrastructure).
What's an AI session?
A session is one back-and-forth task with an agent, typically capped at 30 minutes of activity. Most simple tasks (a small feature, a bug fix, a deploy) finish in well under a session. Heavy refactors may use multiple sessions. The session counter resets on the 1st of each month.
Do unused sessions roll over?
No, sessions reset on a rolling 30-day window. If you regularly hit your plan limit, an overage rate kicks in: $0.50/session on Free (paid from credits), $0.35/session on Builder, $0.25/session on Pro.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from your billing tab in the app, no email or support ticket required. Your account drops to the free tier on the next billing cycle. Hosted apps stay live; you just lose the higher session and app limits.
What if I run out of credit on the pay-as-you-go path?
Sessions pause until you top up. The agent doesn't run unauthorized usage. You can preset auto-top-up thresholds so the balance stays funded without manual attention.
Are there add-ons?
Yes, App Boost (0.5 vCPU + 1GB per app for heavier workloads), Always-On (disables the idle-sleep timer on a hosted app), and the Database add-on (Postgres attached to your apps on Free). Add-ons stack with whatever plan you're on. Available from the app's Health drawer or your billing tab.
